Microsoft never really lost relevance due to the penetration of office in both business and personal usage. Even many Mac users tend to use Microsoft office products on Mac instead of what Apple has to offer. The issue was that of making money and this is where Azure came in, followed by jumping on the AI bandwagon ahead of the pack with openAI.
